I would like to take a second to talk about a topic, that I end up discussing a lot with my clients, friends, and family…

A common thing I hear people say is “I want my tattoo to mean something” or “all my tattoos mean something”. Another favorite, is when I hear judgment on someone whose tattoos “don’t mean anything”. The greatest thing about tattoos, to me, is they don’t belong  to anyone else but you! This may be bihest because I have gotten tattoos that I just like and “don’t mean anything”. This isn’t true they all mean a lot to me. Even a couple poor quality ones that I’m not so proud of.  Every time I look at any of my tattoos (good and bad) it brings me back to the moment I got it. I like to think of all my tattoos as a maker in a way, a page in my life I can look back to. While looking back, there are some tattoos I should have re-thought. Those tattoos just remind me of how much I have grown up and how far I have come as a person. So if you can’t come up with a big meaningful idea for your next tattoo, fear not. Choosing a design you like because it looks good to you will be just as fulfilling. A tattoo becomes a part of you and will be a constant reminder of the time in your life that you got it. In my opinion that is special no matter if its a cool design, portrait of your favorite musician, a pretty flower, or even an infinity symbol. At the end of the day I think every tattoo should be treated like its special (especially as a tattoo artist). No matter how big or how small.
